01:34 pm - so here comes the tour.
in a couple of hours, were leaving for cebu. we're all excited an nervous for this tour.
but i can speak for everyone that we are glad for edwin and cathy tying the knot. we have them to thank for these shows, as well as harakiri mosh for the friday gig. totally punk rock.
i have all my gear packed up, my guitar needs new strings but ill restring it when i get there.
we have merchandise ready, a bunch of legarda shirts, legarda demos that were gonna sell really cheap because i wanted to give away but we'd need the extra cash for food, and a few more records to sell.
i am looking forward to see tiger pussy rock my socks off. bombo pluto ova is another band i'm anticipating. plus the other bands are definitely gonna be better than us. hahaha. but it's an honor.
on the other side of things, i feel sad that jon can't make it due to grave family matters.
so much shit has been happening these past months and we know it's been hard for him.
despite our heavy hearts, we must go on. oh weall wish for better things. hinode.
i'm still tired from a photo shoot that took me to the mountains of liliw laguna yesterday
but we're all ready to go. hope nothing goes wrong and we get back in tact.
oh, tomorrow, legarda are playing a wedding reception before the gig.
isn't that fun?

for you kids who've been bugging for a legarda ep/demo, this'll have to do for the moment.
7mins ++ running time, but we've been playing this live for more than 9 minutes i think.
filmed by kreame isaac at the pinoy penguin rehearsal studio on october 7, 2008.
we have not practiced for a while and by the look on our faces,
you can see we've had a long day at work.
but practice is always fun and brings a much needed release from all the stress we go through.
small rehearsal room but we love this place.
im a sucker for fender amps.

a late thanks to everyone who greeted last friday.
i really appreciate it. i couldnt be any happier.
now friday was just as quiet as it could be.
no bang, no boom, no big surprises and excess.
just bought pizza for everyone at home after doing some groceries
and taking care of some business.
nice and quiet. just the way i liked it.
well, then came saturday which was a blast.
packed my stuff for makati. some old friends showed up to watch me work.
shot the dorques for their PR. didnt quite go as we planned but it was really fun.
we planned to drop by megamall but decided not to as legarda was set to play early @ cubao x
now the kabuwanan arts fest was just a blast.
i was at my finest scatterbrained self the entire night.
i didnt manage to shoot properly but what the heck.
so many people showed up that it turned into a reunion of sorts.
it was incredibly fun though. i usually don't enjoy massive crowds.
despite cubao x being such a small place, we had the hardest time looking for lost companions.
one of the most amazing things of the night was THE I LOVE YOU STORE opening up.
finally after the longest time, ILY finally finds a new home!
they have so much in store for the coming days and here's to nostalgia kicking us in the ass.
now legarda has been seeing quite some action lately.
last week it was ver1.0 doing a trippy noisy spaced out set
to the lomo crowd in neo chinatown
then scuttling off immediately to play at a hardcore release party in QC.
legarda v2.0 played with typecast's chi filling in for ebong
and multiplypilipinas' lawrence doing the electronic stuff
while jonmong's still recovering from that oh-so-nasty chickenpox.
the set at cubao was less than perfect but it was quite fun.
there were moments where it scared the shit out of me.
see, i have an old beat up guitar, but it sounds perfect to me.
its fun to play and recently ive been beating the shit out of it just to get all these sounds.
but eventually somethings gonna give. i DIY'ed the electronics a day before
and i knew surely it wouldnt last long. alas all that hammered fists into the body dislodged something, noodling all the knobs didnt work. our other guitarist looked at me in horror.
fortunately hitting the damn thing into my knee did the trick and trooped on.
i swear im getting a backup soon. i realized during the middle of a song that one of my knobs fell off. i have to take it easy on zero next time...
but playing a shitty guitar and getting something nice out of it is just rewarding.
the set drained the heck out of me but thank yew lawrd for adrenaline.
the night was hot and i was drenched in my own sweat.
kaka and johnny showed up, anne clawie hung out with us, the iloveyou kids were everywhere, hanna vermonyo nikoy, jill and the cavite folks, the powsa, zepol and co (who missed the set), the folks from bookay, nityalila and mikopepito, syke, pao and claire, the weewilldoodle crew, scarlet tears played an amazing set, purplechickens were beyond words! the list goes on.
i swear derricks melon soymilk is the shit. drink it coooold.
i had no idea how i managed to drive all the way home, but i just crashed into my bed.
friday was totally relaxing, just right, it was the calm before the saturday storm.
