hong kong's king ly chee has been one of my favorite bands in the region.
they have been to the philippines 4 times and they never fail to amaze me.
these folks have so much heart and have a ridiculous touring ethic.
it's hard not to get goosebumps when listening to their songs.
empowering lyrics and themes that hit close to home.

i catched up with riz and the rest of the guys before they left their hotel to play in summerslam
and managed to do a quick interview for you folks.
i only recognized riz and brian, turns out they have a brand new line up.
to top it off, it was their first gig that night and the new songs were amazing.

btw, this will hopefully become a series of interviews
on bands, labels, zinemakers, and stuff that catch my interst.
it would also serve as a supplement to the hopefully upcoming thought market 10.

king lychee came back! im glad riz recognized me
they gave free cds to the crowd while they were playing.
these guys have so much heart. one of the best HC bands in asia!
its sad to hear that G left the band.

darkest hour
oh man, i'm at a loss of words.
can you believe it?
all i can say is that im almost deaf,
my throat hurts from singing along,
my entire body is still throbbing not from those nasty kids
but from shooting front of the stage 2 meters away from the giant speakers
with everything, especially the bass, pummelling at me.
i dont know it it was sweat or tears or what...
but it was unreal, cathartic and all that i couldn't shoot properly
darn it john henry, mike, paul, kris and ryan.
you slayed and had fun!

if you dont know who he is, you wont understand. hahah.
hes goddamned bigger than DH in my book!
